The Martingal system

In the december of 1999 the notable cave researcher Gleb Zyrianov discovered a new system of underground passages in a quarry. It was the first time when a completely untouched old limestone quarry has been found near Moscow. The total length of corridors is about 2 km. Old tools, lanterns and other artifacts were found there. After the initial research that part of a quarry has been closed.

The same high and wide galleries looks the same as 100 years ago.   Mining was held using the gunpowder, so roof holding has been installed every meter. Later some parts of the roof holding system collapsed.

They fixed falling slabs with wooden wedges. Some logs can not hold so large pressure.
There are strange stalactites on some logs. There is a lot of calcite on walls.
Old lamp. Old crowbar, forgotten in a ceiling.
In spring time a part of the system is flooded and then... ... the floor is left covered with the thick layer of clay.
